I gave 3 month Audible memberships as gift to my friends

Audible is an application where users can listen to audiobooks and podcasts. Audible is continuously expanding their catalog to include original content, podcasts, sleep and meditation content, and even some audio guided workouts.

Audible does 3 jobs for me; it improves the activities I already enjoy, it makes chores palatable, and finally, it helps me stick with books that might be challenging in sections but are worth it.

I enjoy long walks while listening to books on Audible. I finished John Carreyrou’s Bad Blood on a drive to the Grand Canyon. The user interface for Audible in drive mode is not distracting, easy and safe to operate.

You can gift Audible to your friends or family who are commuters. Audible also makes activities like shopping, standing in a queue at checkout, and commuting in Path train to NYC palatable by allowing me to listen to an entertaining fiction or some interesting non fiction during that time.

I am just completing the 40 hour long Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin. If I had a hard copy, I would have given up when reading about Samuel Chase’s life as the Governor of Ohio. I endured such sections at 1.2x speed until I got to the more interesting sections. I am glad I did. You can definitely gift Audible to people in your life who are history buffs.

Audible is value for money. $15 a month membership gives me one book credit a month. I can get a book that could cost me $25 or $30 for the same credit. And better yet, the credit rolls over. If you are like me and have Amex Platinum, then Audible is free with the digital credits. Your gift might help create a sustainable habit for your loved ones.

Finally, Audible has Amazon’s DNA of customer obsession. Audible removed the “This is Audible” at the end of books a few weeks after they launched Sleep and meditation content. I use the notes and clip feature when I am listening to business and non fiction content. Above all, I trust Amazon’s Audible to hold my credit card safely.
